Molly Coln joined the Mississippi State Athletic Academics Staff in December 2018 and currently serves as an Assistant Director with oversight of Learning Services. Molly graduated from Mississippi State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Educational Psychology and a concentration in Counseling, followed by a Master of Science Degree in Educational Psychology in 2018, and finally an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education in 2022.
Prior to her full-time roles, Molly began working with Athletic Academic Support Services at Mississippi State as a Tutor in 2015, and again as a Graduate Assistant in 2017 working with Learning Services, Baseball, and Men’s and Women’s Golf. In December 2018, she assumed the role of Tutorial Coordinator/Assistant Learning Specialist in which she coordinated and supervised the tutoring and proctoring programs, as well as functioned as the Assistant Learning Specialist for Men’s Basketball and Men’s Track. Molly was then hired as a Learning Specialist in February 2020. As a Learning Specialist, she worked one-on-one with Football, Men’s Basketball, and Softball students by assisting them in fostering the skills needed to succeed at the postsecondary level. Molly also coordinated the screening program for all incoming student-athletes, supervised all proctoring staff, and co-coordinated the Bridge and Workshop programs.
Molly joined the Athletic Academics Leadership Team in November of 2021 as an Assistant Director. In her role, she oversees the Learning Services unit, coordinates psychoeducational evaluations for student-athletes, manages Learning Specialist caseloads, is the liaison to the Director of Counseling and Sport Psychology, and is a Learning Specialist for Men’s Basketball, Football, Men’s Track, and other sports as needed.
A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Molly resides in Starkville with her husband, Justin, and their pets. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and attending concerts.
